Description
The grapes have been manually harvested for this Pinotage, selected from premium Cape vineyards. Deep red with a purple hue, rich aromas of boysenberry and rooibos gently supported with vanilla oak notes, a concentrated yet soft palate and a long berry fruit finish. This full, rich, yet velvety Pinotage is perfect to accompany any meat dish, especially game.
Winemaker's note
Harvested in the early morning at optimum ripeness and destemmed, not crushed, to enhance fresh berry characters. Fermented for 5 days on skins at 23-25°C and then pressed before dryness to maintain soft tannins. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and then matured for almost a year in small French barrels to further aid in the development of structure and soften the tannins.
